Get a Leaked Glimpse at the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with Its 108MP Sensors
Before we begin, I’d like to state that I have no confirmation that these images are real, so whatever you read or see in this article, take it with a grain of salt. An article from MirrorlessRumors has shown a handful of images of the Samsung S20 Ultra that look pretty convincing, with an array of rear cameras and a front camera.
The front camera is allegedly going to be 40MP (who wants to see up their own nose in that much detail?), while the rear cameras are as follows:
- 12MP ultrawide camera
- 108MP wide-angle camera
- 48MP telephoto camera
- DepthVision camera: I’m assuming this one will aid in creating depth-of-field in portraits and the like.
It’s a pretty intense line-up of lenses on what equates to a small square in your pocket. Add those lenses to the increasingly-powerful software that is very much starting to match the power of more traditional cameras, and it’s easy to see why companies like Nikon and Canon are struggling to grow their camera sales beyond hardcore camera enthusiasts.
By all means, I’m not stating cameras are going the way of the dodo, but mobile camera technology is certainly eating into traditional camera businesses, and where that stops isn’t currently known.
