The Great Outdoors Photo Contest


Enter The Great Outdoors photo contest for a chance win a Nikon D500 and lens kit, Dell UltraSharp 32” 4k monitor or CyberLink creative software. As part of our month-long celebration of photography, we’re asking to see your best nature shots! Prizes will be awarded in five different categories: landscape, macro, weather, wildlife, and best overall. Share up to five photos for a chance to win.

Not  a  photographer  but  still  want  to  participate?  The  community  will  have  a  chance  to  vote  on  their favorites, so check back on 1/16/20 to cast your vote!

One grand prize winner will be selected for the best nature photo and one runner up winner will be selected in each of the four categories:  Landscape, Macrophotography, Wildlife and Weather

The Competition objective is to capture the best nature photo, as further defined in the Judging Criteria:

  • Public Appeal (the expert judges factor in Likes, in their discretion, received from the Project Innovate community.)
  • Creativity
  • Composition
  • Relevance to the theme of nature



This skill-based Competition is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (other than Quebec) who are thirteen (13) years of age or older and residents of Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France and Germany who are sixteen (16) years of age or older as of December 6, 2019.  Entry closes January 15, 2020, 11:59pm PST.

Voting is now Open!  The Public Voting will be open from January 16, 2015 12:00am UTC through February 2, 2016 11:59pm UTC.  Scroll over the images and select "Cast Vote" to cast your vote for entries that best meet the contest objective!  You are limited to one vote per image, 10 votes total maximum. 

Judging:  The Competition objective is to share photos that represent a unique perspective of Texas keeping in mind the following judging criteria:

  • Adherence/Appropriateness to unique “Texas Perspectives” Theme
  • Creativity
  • Composition
  • Public Appeal
