LG’s Been Teasing Its New Dual-Screen Phone, Set to be Revealed on September 6th
LG has released a trailer promoting its upcoming press conference at IFA 2019, and showing off what seems to be a teaser for their upcoming attempt at a dual-screen smartphone along with a tertiary front display; a three-screen phone technically?
“The 20-second trailer shows a video game mockup being played on a smartphone that features a small video game controller icon and a camera, before a second screen folds out to show a map with a route to the company’s IFA press conference. Finally the device closes, revealing what appears to be a third, smaller screen on its front, which displays the time and date of LG’s presentation.
It’s a very similar concept to the LG V50 ThinQ’s second screen case accessory that LG showed off earlier this year during the phone’s reveal at MWC. However, this detachable accessory — which was never released in the US — didn’t have the additional screen on its exterior, which appears to be new for this version.” (The Verge)

It looks interesting, definitely, though with Samsung and others facing teething problems with their offerings, it’ll be interesting to see if LG can produce something that puts them ahead of the pack. I like the idea of a clamshell design, similar to Samsung’s device – hopefully without the strange small screen on the front.
What do you make of it? Do you think LG has the possibility of putting out something that can take on or even beat the competition? Will you be watching closely for the announcement? Share your comments below!
